Keyword Search
In Keyword SEARCH you can search only one field at a time. This search looks for exact or likely keywords in the database. The keywords are Disease name, Gene name, Drug name. To search two or more fields at the same time, use the ADVANCE SEARCH option.
Advance Search
The Advance Search searches more than one field at a time. There are two entry points provided for gene, protein and drug, drug properties. This search can be done by filling up a form with all possible fields such as Gene name, Gene id, Omim, Hgnc, Pubmed, Swissprot id, Interpro, PFam, PDB, Smart, Prints for gene and protein. The second entry point drug and drug properties include Drug name, Mode of action, Drug effect, Kegg, Drugbank, Status, Pubchem, Molecular formula. Need not fill all the fields to perform the search. At least one field is necessary to perform the search. The fields are connected to each other by the AND operator. Hence care should be taken when performing this search to avoid confusions.
