DCSE HELP
DCSE ID: Searching Methods: In Keyword SEARCH you can search only one field at a time. This search looks for exact or likely keywords in the database. The keywords are DCSE id, name, enzyme commison number or species. To search two or more fields at the same time, use the ADVANCED SEARCH option. Advanced Search The Advanced Search searches more than one field at a time. This search can be done by filling up a form with all possible fields such as DCSe Id, Name, enzyme commission number, species, SwisssProt accession number, Interpro Id, PFam Id, PDB Id.One need not fill all the fields to perform the search. Atleast one field is necessary to perform the search. The fields are connected to each other by the AND operator. Hence care should be taken when performing this search to avoid confusions. Browse DCSEA listing of all available classes of enzymes is available. This list will be updated as and when new entries are added to the database. This list can be used to query the database. As of now there are 21 enzyme classes. BLAST:
Blast against DCSE A BLAST Search can be performed against the protein sequences in the DCSE. This can be done by setting the option “Choose Database” on the BLAST input form as “DCSE”. This search helps to identify cell signaling enzymes that are similar to the input sequence. This search can be performed to identify the class of a newly sequenced cell signaling enzyme.
Blast against PDB A blast search against Protein Data
Bank (PDB) can be done by setting the option “Choose Database” on the
BLAST input form as “PDB”.PDB is the repository of protein structures
and a BLAST search against PDB can be used to find proteins
whose structure has been solved and are similar to the input sequence. Blast against Swiss-Prot |
